Apple Cake

Last month, Abigail and Sean married in true fairytale style in the fabulous venue of Peckforton Castle. Abigail's dress was a gorgeous custom Hollywood Dreams creation - so stunning we've included some pics for you to enjoy. A subtle apple theme ran throughout the wedding - roses, lanterns, ivy and apples decorating the red carpet leading up the aisle, toffee apples as favours for the men, crab apples in Abigail's bouquet - and of course the Apple Cake (with tiers of Spiced Caramel Apple Cake and Boozy Fruit Cake - yum!!). Simply beautiful! Abigail runs her own wedding planning business, so if you would like to benefit from her style and wedding expertise, she can be contacted via Abigail@bentleybrides.co.uk or 07775730579. Thanks for the photos Abigail! xx

Butterflies and Roses

Mel and Paul's wedding at Hillbark last month was FABULOUS!! Here is a picture of the gorgeously vintage cake we created for them - 4 tiers of delicate sugar rosebuds and butterflies dusted with edible glitter. Displaying it on a pedestal and antique glass cake stand really added to the impact. To see more pictures of their special day, check out the images taken by one of our favourite photographers, Lisa Aldersley.

Art Deco Classy Cake

Claire and Tony's wedding at The Leverhulme Hotel was stylish, glamorous and elegant. The black and white theme of the big day complemented the art deco feel of the venue, and The Classy Cake worked fabulously finished with black double satin ribbon. We baked four different flavours including a gluten free tier and set the cake up in the entrance to the venue - Claire sent us this lovely shot taken by one of her friends. Thanks Claire! xx

Vintage Rosebuds

We love the unusual arrangement of this cake - a square base and 3 round tiers adds a twist to the vintage feel of the design. Finished with gorgeous handmade sugar rosebuds, a pearl trim and fresh dusky pink roses, this cake complemented the romantic theme of Laura and Mark's reception. The French Vanilla Cake with Champagne, Strawberry and Buttercream was a perfect accompaniment to the Bacon Butties served in the evening - yum!

Daisy Hill Cake Co - on a pedestal!

We were really surprised to see how many hits our website was receiving from the US - until we discovered we have been featured on an american based wedding planning website! The article discusses the use of pedestal cake stands - which we simply adore for showing off our cakes to the max! There's no need to spend a fortune on a new stand for your cake - ask your granny, your auntie, your future mother-in-law etc to raid their cupboards, we can almost guarantee at least one of them will have a great cake stand stashed away and will love the opportunity to put one to good use!

Classy Cake in Brides Magazine

We are thrilled with the picture of our Classy Cake in the 'Winter Glamour' feature of July/August Conde Nast 'Brides' magazine. The design is so versatile and also looks stunning in hot fuschia pink, deep gold, royal blue, forest green....the list goes on!

Vera Wang Inspiration

When we were contacted by Karen from Australia regarding a cake design for her UK wedding on May 15th, it became apparent that we wouldn't have the opportunity to meet face to face before the big day! After a couple of emails, we decided to use the design of her fabulous Vera Wang dress as the inspiration for the cake making 'knots' out of icing which we then pearlised (we're hoping to get hold of a clearer image when the official pics are ready!). You will see from the image that a 4-tier cake is a whopper! This is because each tier is at least 4" deep by the time we have filled the cakes to the brim with Chocolate Baileys Truffle, Cointreau Orange Cream, Champagne Strawberry and Buttercream etc - yum!
