Winter Wedding in Portmeirion

Portmeirion is a magical place, built as a folly of an Italian fishing village yet situated on the Welsh coast. It's a perfect setting for a wedding - small, intimate and full of character. Rachael had fallen in love with Daisy Hill Cake Company's Classy Cake but wanted to tie in a wintery element and her soft ivory colour scheme. After hours of painstaking work (thanks Jen!) on hundreds of the finest tiny snowflakes, we were delighted with the finished results! Thank you once again to Andrew John for yet another beautiful photo.

Chocolate Boxes

At Daisy Hill Cake Company, we like to think of ourselves as wedding veterans - after all, we work on hundreds of weddings all over the country every year! However Nicky and Mark's special day at Stanley House was in a completely different league when it came to flowers - hundreds upon hundreds of the most sumptuous grand prix roses we have ever seen! It was no surprise to find that Earth were responsible for the amazing display including a heart made entirely of roses to dress the room for the civil ceremony.
We completed the look with a 7-tier tower of individual chocolate boxes tied with deep red ribbon and finished with a swaroski crystal. We understand the display had all the guests mouths watering. Have a look at the gorgeous picture supplied by Andrew John. He is an amazingly talented photographer and recipient of many well deserved accolades. Thanks Andrew!

Cake Dilemma

Back in the summer, Claire was in a dilemma about which cake to choose - she loved the drama of one of our pillared designs, the sparkle of the Scattered Diamante Cake and the glam of the Classy Cake. The solution? Simple - combine elements of all three cakes to create a stunning centrepiece that complemented the crystal embellishments on Claire's gorgeous dress. The reception took place at Knowsley Hall which recently featured on Hollyoaks.....!

Diamante Lace Cake

The Diamante Lace Cake is one of Daisy Hill Cake Company's favourites - probably because it is one of the most challenging! Creating the finest delicate lace panels from icing is tricky and time consuming (but so worth it!) and the cake has to be set up and decorated on site - not for the faint hearted! But each time we have created this cake, the results (and feedback from happy couples!) has been amazing. The Diamante Lace Cake took centre stage at a late summer marquee wedding (complete with steel band which created such a party atmosphere!) and worked fabulously with Sarah's gorgeous lace dress. We are also delighted that the cake is featured in the January 09 issue of Cosmopolitan Bride.

Petal Cake in Brides Magazine

We love the challenge of creating brand new cake designs for Brides Magazine, and the Petal Cake featured in the January/February 2009 issue was no exception. We made over 700 individual cream sugar petals and finished the tumbling tower with half a dozen individual complete sugar flowers in pale pink dusted with edible glitter for extra sparkle! Check out the Brides magazine website for more wedding inspiration.

Enchanted Woodland Wedding at Home House

We were so excited when Verity asked us to create a centrepiece cake for her wedding reception with an 'enchanted woodland' theme at one of London's most exclusive private members clubs - Home House. Deep rich reds, burgundies and dusky pinks with accents of creams and whites were the order of the day! Verity's florist, Detta Phillips had designed a stunning floral theme for the big day - we were more than happy to leave our cake in her capable hands and are thrilled with the result!

Wedding Cake and Hot Chocolate - A Highland Fling!

Vanessa and Tim's wedding at Wedderburn Castle was a weekend house party with wow! The dramatic backdrop of the castle (flooded with deep red light for extra effect) worked fabulously with their rich cream and red colour scheme. We were worked with Vanessa to create a 5-tier tower cake and cookie medley for guests to enjoy in the library with cups of hot chocolate at the end of the reception. The wedding is featured in the new issue of Bride Magazines and Vanessa said 'Daisy Hill Cake Company excelled in creating 5 tiers of deliciousness. All our suppliers were amazing and I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone wanting perfection'. Thanks Vanessa and Tim!

Pennyhill Park Winter Wedding

Robert and Sanaz's wedding at Pennyhill Park in Surrey took our breath away! Scented candles and a rich carpet of fresh rose petals lined the aisle and the reception was adorned with masses of beautiful white roses, twinkling lights and more fresh rose petals. We really enjoyed working with their florist, Russell from Blomster Designs in Cobham to create this stunning, colourful take on our Ruffle Roses cake which featured in one of last years 'Brides' magazine. Thanks for the picture Sanaz and Rob! xx
